In general, it’s recommended to put the No AI Use graphic in or around the credits of a project. This allows for the audience to see that the people behind the project didn’t use generative AI.
The text on the full graphic reads:
Created without large language models, generative audio, or diffusion models. For more information visit noaiuse.org.
The Creative Commons license allows for anyone to modify the graphic. For consistency, the font used is DIN Alternate. For font changes, it’s recommended that a sans-serif font is used for readability and consistency.
The placement and sizing of the No AI Use graphic is up to each creator, the following are recommendations.
Full Screen
In cases where the graphic is the sole focus of the screen, it should be positioned in the center.
The full graphic should be sized to take up one third of the width of the display, unless the display has an aspect ratio wider than 16:9. In the case of widescreen display, the full graphic should be sized such that the height of the box takes up one fourth of the height of the display.
The compact graphic should be sized to take up either one third of the width or one third of the height, whichever is smaller.
Inline
In an inline setting, such as credits, the full graphic should be sized such that the height of the “No Generative AI” text area of the graphic match the height of the letters otherwise shown in the credits.
The compact graphic should be sized such that the height of the letters above the box match the height of the letters otherwise shown.
Overlay
The No AI Use graphic should not eclipse any image. For use as a watermark, the compact graphic should be overlayed with a lowered opacity, and a color that contrasts the content below it.
It’s recommended that the graphic takes up no more than a fifth of the width or height of the full image. The graphic should be placed with at least 10 pixels of padding from the edge.
While the downloads only include black and white graphics, creators can change the primary and secondary colors in any way to fit their project.
For the easiest use, the full or compact png image can be used depending on whether the video is horizontal or vertical. It’s recommended that No AI Use graphic be shown for between three and five seconds at either the beginning of the video or at the end. If shown at the beginning, have a one second gap between the graphic and the rest of the video.
For workflows that support it, the svg file allows for the highest quality implementation of the No AI Use graphic.
It’s recommended to use the compact svg file in the credits of the game. For game developers that want the No AI Use graphic included in a splash screen, it’s recommended to use the full graphic unless the splash screen is vertical.
Either the compact svg file or the 88x31 badge can be used to signify No AI Use graphic. It’s recommended that this graphic is only included in the about page unless it’s signifying no generative AI use in another project.
In the case that the No AI Use graphic is being used for another project being displayed on a website, it’s recommended that the compact svg file is used.
If the 88x31 badge is used, it’s encouraged that the badge image links to noaiuse.org and is rendered pixelated.
For static digital artwork, the compact No AI Use graphic is recommended. It is also recommended that the color of the graphic is altered to contrast the background and the opacity lowered when used as an overlay or watermark. For some applications it may be less obtrusive to display the No AI Use graphic beside the artwork.
For most cases, it’s best to have the compact No AI Use graphic beside the album cover (such as on a website or product page). Setting the No AI Use graphic on the album cover, similar to how pictures and images can be marked, may be too obtrusive.
